Dr. David W. Weisgerber has been in medical practice in
the
city of Hickory since 1987. He has been a member of the medical
staff
at Frye Regional Medical Center since that time. He
specializes
in adult medical diseases and their treatment as well as consulting
with
his patients on prevention of disease and healthier living. He
admits
his patients to Frye Regional Medical Center and manages both routine
and
emergency medical conditions at that facility.
Dr. Weisgerber received his Doctor of Medicine
degree
from Medical College of Ohio, Toledo Ohio. His
postgraduate
training in Internal Medicine was completed at Johns Hopkins
Medical
Institutions, Baltimore, Md. Dr. Weisgerber is a member of
the
American
Society of Internal Medicine and has received ongoing medical
continuing
education through that professional organization. Prior to
studying
medicine Dr. Weisgerber attended Xavier University, Cincinnati,
Ohio, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural
Sciences.
Dr. Weisgerber maintains that an important aspect of
the
practice of medicine is the communication between the doctor and his
patients.
For this reason, Dr. Weisgerber does not utilize a physician assistant
as a substitute for his individual interaction with the patient.
This distinguishes his practice from many in the area and ensures the
opportunity
for each patient to address their concerns with the doctor at every
office
visit.
